The Costa Brava is rapidly becoming a favourite destination for golfers. There are excellent courses all within easy reach of each other and without the problems of over-crowding that can be faced in other areas of Spain. Link this to the availability of low cost airlines coming into Girona and Barcelona, quality accommodation at sensible prices and a golf break in the region becomes a very attractive option.
Golf Breaks:
We have some excellent offers of accommodation close to Emporda Golf, Golf Platja de Pals and Serres de Pals. These three golf clubs form a triangle of courses within 5 minutes drive of each other and are the ideal location for golf breaks. The nearest airports are Girona (55km) Barcelona (130km) and Perpignan (130 km) which all have budget airlines from UK.

COSTA BRAVA COURSES
We are delighted to be able to offer accommodation which is only a short drive ( no pun intended!) from some of the best golf courses in Spain. Whether you are a scratch golfer or a high handicapper you are going to find courses which are challenging and also offer a warm welcome to visiting golfers. We are able to offer discounts off green fees at Golf Platja de Pals, Serres de Pals and Emporda Golf. As in UK weekday golf is generally cheaper than weekends and discounts are less during busy holiday periods. We are confident that clients visiting the local courses will want to return.
 There are 11 golf courses within an hour's drive of our Pals properties and of these 4 are within ten minutes drive. Our experience has shown us that some "learner" golfers can be intimidated by the impeccable greens and fairways of championship courses. Pitch and Putt Gualta, only 10 minutes away from our Pals properties offers a driving range and a great par 3 course which "developing" golfers can enjoy. It also has a bar with a terrace overlooking the course and driving range where non-playing members of the group can look on in admiration!
GOLF COURSE INFORMATION:
The course has a total distance of 6222m with a typical British design. Inaugurated in 1966 it is the oldest course on the Costa Brava, designed for power players and requires high precision strokes. It is very interesting to play and must be played intelligently. The first holes are not exceedingly long but are surrounded by pines and strategically placed bunkers. Precision is needed approaching the greens.

Golf Serres de Pals comprises a combination of three distinct types of terrain. These are areas with smooth hill tops, pine forest and fairways between lakes. The course is a "Pay and play" of 18 holes, par 72 and designed by Ramon Espinosa and is attractive to all players whether beginners or more experienced. The course is located in attractive surroundings with stunning views of the Medes Islands.

PGA Golf de Catalunya was designed by Angel Gallardo and Neil Coles. The course has a very special, 18 holes, par 72 layout. There are five different tees for each hole making it the only course in Spain with this feature allowing players of any handicap to enjoy a good round of golf.
PGA Catalunya has been ranked in the top 10 of European courses by "Golf World".

Pitch and Putt Gualta is probably the best example of the growing number of Par 3 courses in Spain. This is certainly not your average pitch and putt course but a genuine par 3 location to practice your short game. This course is well designed and offers a range of challenging holes on well-manicured greens. Some of the greens are set over or beside lakes and others are reached through narrow, tree-lined fairways. Other holes are guarded by cunningly placed bunkers! The driving range is next to the club house car park enabling you to warm up and cross straight on to the course. The driving range is floodlit and has a mixture of astroturf bays and grass tees. Club hire is very well priced and the management very helpful. An English professional is at hand to offer lessons with excellent rates for lessons - particularly mid week.

Golf Girona course was designed by the prestigious architect F.G.Hawtree who described it as one of his finest creations. The course consists of 18 holes, par 72 and covers a distance of 6100 metres. The quality of the design is matched by the care taken over its maintenance, being the only course in Spain seeded with "Pencross".
The course takes full advantage of the topography and natural shaping of the terrain. The result is an elegant and pleasing golf course but at the same time challenging for players of all levels.

CLUB DE GOLF COSTA BRAVA
The 18 hole course was opened in 1968 and was designed by Hamilton Stutt & Co.
The course combines a picturesque and challenging outward nine, lined with pines and cork oaks, contrasting with the last nine holes which are more open and relaxed situated on flat ground with wider fairways.
The course finishes with the 18th hole rising towards the Club House which is a typical, large, Catalan house built in 1841.
