Calella could be described as the beach area of Palafrugell. The road from the town divides at a large roundabout at the coast where you turn left for Llafranc and right for Calella de Palafrugell. ( not to be confused with the other Calella near to Barcelona!)

A former fishing village Calella has a charm of its own  where the collection of beaches interspersed with rock outcrops create one of the most scenic and most photographed views on the Costa Brava. Many of the private houses open on to the beach areas and there are a selection of restaurants directly at the beach front. The walk from Calella towards Llafranc provides  one of the most picturesque routes along the coast. There are also lots of places to just sit and take in the scenery!
